This is the "code" which all those involved in Reiki are guided by.

Here are the Five Precepts of Reiki. There are several slighly different translations, but they are all basically the same.

Just for Today.

Do not Anger.

Do not Worry.

Be Humble.

Be Honest, in your dealings with others.

Be Compassionate.

Just for Today

Yesterday has passed, and is gone forever. You cannot change what happened, so don't concern yourself with what has passed. Tommorow holds so many variables that you cannot possibly plan ahead for it. Only concern yourself with Today, as you can only control that which is happening now.As the saying goes, "If Time flies, then be the Pilot".

Do not Anger.

Anger is a wasteful and distructive, negative emotion. Instead of getting angry, and letting the anger cloud your judgment and rule your actions, take control. Consider what is making you angry, and seek to change and control it. Do not apportion blame to yourself or others. Try to understand the actions of yourself and others, and work out positve ways of resolving the cause of your anger.

Do not Worry.

Do not waste time and energy worrying about the things that you have no control over. If you do have control over things, then take control and change things. Consider the impact that these changes have over you and others.

Be Humble.

We all have gifts and talents. No-one is "better" than anyone else, just "different". Accept these differences, and celebrate them. Live your life simply and without clutter or an enlarged Ego. Remember that respect has to be given before it is received.

Be Honest, in your dealings with others.

Deceit and lies may well be part of todays "me" society, but they have no place in Reiki. Try to be fair minded, honest, and open in both business and personal life. Remember that a half truth is a whole lie.

Be Compassionate.

Place yourself in the other persons shoes. Treat everyone as you would wish to be treated. Acknowledge any differences and diversities, and celebrate them. We are, after all, each a minority of one. Treat everyone according to their unique needs, with the respect that they deserve.
